Driving Our Next Phase of Growth: Eric Gilpin Named President, Go-to-Market

Today, I’m happy to share that Eric Gilpin has been appointed as G2’s first-ever President of Go-to-Market (GTM) — a role that unifies our marketing and revenue teams under one leader. This shift is designed to ensure we deliver high-value experiences to our customers at every stage of their buying journey. 

The way software buyers make decisions is changing rapidly, with AI reshaping the research, evaluation, and purchasing stages of their journey. They’re also increasingly conducting their own research on their own time and expecting vendors to meet them where they are in their journey with more intelligence and speed.

As we strive to meet this mandate and help our customers do the same, we recognize that this requires tight alignment between marketing and sales. Creating a unified GTM team under Eric’s leadership will help G2 deliver a consistent, high-value experience to our customers from the very first touchpoint while ensuring everyone is working from the same set of data and intent signals.

Focusing on customer success

Eric joined G2 in September 2023 as our Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), with over 20 years of experience leading global sales and partnerships in marketplace businesses. His customer-first approach and hands-on leadership style have already strengthened our revenue engine, and now he’s taking on an even broader mandate. 

As President of GTM, Eric’s leadership will ensure that our global marketing and revenue teams run a single, coordinated strategy to help our customers — software buyers and sellers — reach their full potential. That means better consistency, clarity, and value at every touchpoint. 

When I talked with Eric about this transition, he was energized about the opportunity to bring our teams even closer to drive more value for our customers.
