New Categories Introduced to G2 in June 2025

As technology evolves and the needs of software buyers expands, so too must the way we evolve our taxonomy here at G2. Today, we’re excited to announce the creation of 9 new categories, which include 170 total products, to our growing marketplace!

In this update we will unveil the details of each new category and how these changes will make discovering new, emerging software easier than ever. G2’s expert Market Research Analysts will also provide additional information around why these categories were introduced to G2’s ever-evolving B2B taxonomy. 

1. Conversational Commerce Platforms

About this category: Conversational commerce software is rapidly redefining the way customers engage with brands on e-commerce platforms, blending the ease of chat and voice with the power of AI. 

Why it was introduced:

“As consumers increasingly prefer an easy, intuitive, and personalized experience, this category is becoming essential for brands looking to meet customers where they are and drive seamless, scalable conversions through meaningful interactions.”
