We are thrilled to announce that G2 has officially recognized 15 new categories in our taxonomy over the last two months.
From AI security posture management solutions to AI AppSec assistants to data modeling tools, G2 is making it easier than ever for buyers to find, compare, and implement the exact solutions they need to build momentum early at the start of 2026.
About this category: Our new AI AppSec assistants category was created to distinguish AI-driven application security assistants from general AI coding assistants. These solutions focus specifically on helping developers and security teams identify and remediate security vulnerabilities directly within the software development lifecycle.
Why it was introduced:
“As the AI code landscape evolves, security-focused solutions are emerging to complement general AI coding assistants. Broad copilots focus on productivity and code generation, but are not necessarily purpose-built to address security risks.
