There are over 2,000 software and service categories on G2, with 1,351 represented in our Spring 2026 reports.

It’s no surprise that so many AI categories made the list this year, as Agentic AI took our number one spot with 30 products added, with AI Agents on its heels with 26. Three other AI categories made this list – including most notably, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), which is new to the list this quarter.

It’s noteworthy that Agentic AI is at the top of this list this quarter, as it was the second-fastest-growing category last quarter with 24 products added. Also of note, AEO made its debut in our Winter Report as a new “report-ready” category, so it’s extra exciting to see that just one quarter later, AEO has matured into a "Top Product Growth" category, with 12 new products added this season.

Now, let’s dive into the categories on G2 that feature a Grid® Report for the first time. Not all categories on G2 are reflected in our Reports. We first need to make sure there is enough data to support the analysis and rankings. According to our G2 Methodology, a software or service category becomes eligible for a Grid® Report when it has at least 6 products with over 10 reviews and over 150 reviews overall.

These are the 16 new report-ready categories this quarter.

New report ready categories

  • Application Security Posture Management (ASPM): A comprehensive cybersecurity solution that safeguards software applications against potential threats. The process involves continuously assessing, monitoring, and enhancing an organization's application security posture.
  • Artificial Intelligence Consulting: These tools help businesses drive and leverage AI and machine learning (ML) strategies and development. AI consultants do not necessarily provide proprietary software solutions, but instead help businesses understand ML solutions or support them in building their own.
  • Consumer Insights Platforms: These software solutions allow organizations to design research studies, connect with consumer audiences, and analyze results in a single system. They also reduce reliance on traditional research agencies, making consumer insights more accessible, repeatable, and cost-efficient.
  • Data Security Posture Management (DSPM): This type of software helps organizations assess, manage, and strengthen the security of sensitive data across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. They also identify where sensitive data resides, classify it, evaluate risk levels, and implement or recommend remediations to ensure compliance and prevent data breaches.
  • Deduction Management: These tools help businesses manage disputes and deductions. These deductions include rebates, discounts, returns, or other changes made to invoices or payments.
  • Guest Messaging: This type of software enables hotel operators and employees to establish a personalized communication channel with individual guests for notifications, instructions, or service. They also ensure optimal guest experiences and staff workflows through timely messages and responses.
  • Large Language Models (LLMs): LLMs are advanced artificial intelligence systems specifically engineered to comprehend, interpret, and generate human-like text from a wide array of inputs. They are often integrated into existing applications and systems to automate language-heavy tasks, such as powering conversational interfaces and supporting reasoning-driven insights.
  • Owned Media: These platforms enable companies and creators to distribute content to build, engage, and monetize their audience. These tools provide features focused on hosting a range of content and media on a destination property, including articles, videos, podcasts, live streams, and other editorial formats.
  • Professional Tax: Also referred to as professional tax preparation software, these tools are used by tax preparers, CPAs, and enrolled agents to file individual and business tax returns.
  • Protective Intelligence Platforms: These platforms allow security teams to proactively identify and mitigate threats for key security needs, including executive protection, workplace violence, facility or on-premise security, and emergency and crisis management.
  • Restaurant Reservations: To optimize operations, restaurants need specialized software to manage the daily customer influx and reservations. This type of software allows customers to book tables and helps managers schedule employees according to customer traffic.
  • Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) Platforms: SASE is a cybersecurity architecture built to tackle modern computing environments. Traditionally, companies utilize numerous point solutions to secure access to networks and connections and manage identities.
  • Secure Enterprise Browser: These are web browsers specifically designed for businesses. They have advanced security capabilities built into the browser when compared to a standard consumer browser.
  • Semantic Layer Tools: This type of software provides a centralized layer for defining and managing business metrics, calculations, and logic, ensuring everyone in an organization works with a consistent view of the data.
