At G2, we’ve established ourselves as the place to go for software. Now, in the age of AI, we have an even greater opportunity to connect software buyers and sellers. With a promising long-term growth trajectory, it’s important we have the right Executive Leadership Team in place to guide us.
Building this team, last year we announced the appointments of Chad Gold and Eric Gilpin as CFO and CRO, respectively. And today, I couldn't be more excited to share that we’ve appointed Sydney Sloan as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)!
Introducing G2’s new CMO
If you’re in the B2B SaaS industry, perhaps you’ve heard her speak at an event or on a podcast, or have come across her wisdom on LinkedIn. In case you’re less familiar, Sydney is a seasoned marketing leader with decades of experience under her belt driving transformative growth for technology businesses — including marketing leadership roles at pre-IPO and post-IPO companies.
Most recently, she was the first-ever CMO at Drata, the compliance automation software company which impressively appeared on five of our G2 Best Software Awards lists for 2024! Before that, as CMO of revenue workflow platform (and G2 partner) Salesloft, Sydney helped scale the company 10x in less than four years — expanding the marketing team as the company grew from series C to E, with a $2.3B valuation and investment by Vista Equity Partners. She was also CMO at Alfresco, and held several marketing leadership roles at Adobe during a 17-year tenure.
Beyond her full-time marketing positions, Sydney is an Advisor for Scale Venture Partners and a Limited Partner at Stage 2 Capital, where she advises founders and leaders on GTM strategy, brand, strategic partnerships, customer journey, and employee culture. A champion of DEI, she’s also a Master Mentor at Women in Revenue, a co-sponsor of WISE (Women in Sales Everywhere), and previously spearheaded Salesloft’s DEI program in 2020. Earlier this year, she was recognized as a Top 100 Female B2B SaaS Pipeline Pioneers by SalesIntel.
And prior to her joining G2, Sydney was a valued member of our own Executive Advisory Board, providing strategic input alongside other B2B SaaS leaders to help shape our future. As a former partner, customer, and advisor to G2, Sydney has long been in our circle and we are proud to have her officially on board as our new CMO!
