On June 28, 1969, New York City police raided the Stonewall Inn, sparking an uprising by patrons and supporters to resist the harassment and oppressions long endured by the queer community.
Today, Pride Month is celebrated every June in honor of the Stonewall Riots and the continued fight for human rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer/Questioning, Asexual, Pansexual, and Demi-sexual (LGBTIQ+) people everywhere.
At G2, we believe there is always a place for advocacy both in and out of the workplace.
So to celebrate Pride Month, we’re committed to educating our workforce on important issues and giving back to LGBTIQ+ charities through G2 Gives.
5.6%
of adults in the United States identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender.

What is G2 Gives?
One of the best parts of working at G2 is the company culture. Our people are the backbone of G2 and it really shows through our employees’ dedication to learning from and educating others.
G2 Gives is our philanthropic division, providing employees with opportunities to support organizations and communities important to them.
This is how G2 Gives aims to make a difference in the world:
- Charitable donations to our pillar partnership organizations
- Local and community support and action
- Supporting employees’ personal efforts and volunteer work
- Team-sponsored volunteer events
We value the diversity of thought, identity, abilities, backgrounds, and interests of our employees. G2 is always working to create and maintain a welcoming environment where people feel welcomed, valued, and inspired.
G2’s culture is based on these PEAK values:
- Reaching higher levels of Performance
- Inspiring Entrepreneurship in diverse and/or youth communities
- Staying Authentic in our beliefs and causes we support
- Being Kind by sharing our time, talent, and resources
Our commitment
All G2ers share similar values, such as hard work, determination, and an entrepreneurial spirit. But it’s not just our similarities that make G2 such a wonderful place to work — our differences are equally important.
In addition to the many efforts set forth by G2 Gives, our employees enjoy:
- Matched donations: G2 matches up to $50 in charitable donations per year for every employee.
- Paid volunteer time off: Every G2 employee gets 20 hours per year for personal volunteering.
Pillar Organization: OutRight Action International
G2 Gives partners with 11 pillar organizations each year to spread awareness to our online audience and give back to these amazing charities. This year, we’re proud to have OutRight Action International as one of our pillar organizations.
OutRight Action International actively fights for the human rights of LGBTIQ+ people around the world. OutRight works on behalf of those who experience discrimination or abuse because of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
As a leading human rights advocacy organization, OutRight works on international, regional, and national levels to address important LGBTIQ+ issues. Their resources are put toward researching, documenting, defending, and advancing human rights for the LGBTIQ+ community.
About OutRight
OutRight Action International works to address these important issues:
- Privacy and family
- Criminal injustice
- Fighting crackdown on activism
- Trans, intersex, and nonbinary rights
- Safety and security
The organization is a registered 501c3 non-profit in the United States, has staff located in six countries, and works closely with activists across four continents.
OutRight is also the only LGBTIQ+ organization with a permanent presence at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Having a global presence at the UN allows them to bring crucial issues to light to world leaders.
Local organizations
In addition to global charities, G2 Gives supports organizations committed to helping people right in our backyard.
Brave Space Alliance provides services for transgender and gender-nonconforming people in the South and West Sides of Chicago.
Trans-specific resources are few and far between and mostly exist within majority-white neighborhoods, often resulting in the policing of trans people of color. When you donate to Brave Space, you help fund critical community programs and free resources for trans and gender-nonconforming people in Chicago.
And with many G2ers around the globe, we also proudly support LGBTIQ+ organizations in regions local to our employees overseas.
The Pharm Foundation is a charitable trust that supports the trans community in Chennai, India.
Currently, many of the trust’s resources are helping provide dry rations to community members in Chengalpattu and Kanchipuram as they continue to face a devastating wave of COVID-19. Donations to the Pharm Foundation will go to relief for trans people, daily wage workers, and future programs.
Celebrating Pride at G2
Every person has the right to work in a safe and inclusive environment. One of the most impactful ways we work to ensure a diverse and inclusive workforce at G2 is with employee resource groups (ERGs).
These groups empower employees to celebrate what makes them unique, bond with others who share similar experiences, as well as educate and connect with those who identify as allies. ERGs act as a safe space for employees to be their full, true selves in the workplace.
Our LGBTQ & Allies group works hard to celebrate, educate, and foster employee engagement around the rich history of Pride and the LGBTIQ+ community. This ERG also works externally to make others aware that G2 is a welcoming and empowering space for the LGBTIQ+ community and allies.

G2 is celebrating Pride throughout June with these events:
