Earlier today, we revealed our 2023 Best Software Award winners. As noted in our methodology, to be considered for the awards, a software company or product must have received at least 50 approved and published reviews during the 2022 calendar year — with scores reflecting only data from reviews submitted during this evaluation period.
Beyond the winners across our 30 different “Best of” lists, we were curious about those who didn’t quite make the cut, but deserve an honorable mention. Specifically, who are the up and comers to keep an eye on?
Recognizing the best new kids on the block
Inquiring minds want to know, so, we’re unveiling G2’s "Rookies of the Year" — the top 25 newly listed products on G2 in 2022, receiving their very first customer reviews over the last calendar year. We envision this list as an addendum to the 2023 Best Software Awards, similar to how the Forbes Cloud 100 publishes a separate “Rising Stars” ranking.
While some products new to G2 impressively gain momentum in record speeds – some even accruing hundreds of reviews – many haven’t quite achieved that minimum 50 review count to be eligible for Best Software Awards. So when reviewing and ranking the top new kids on the block (a.k.a. new products on G2), we considered those with 10 or more reviews, for a lower threshold appropriate for this emerging subset of products.
