Summer always seems to fly right by. Now the kids are back to school, the swimsuits have been packed away, and it’s time for pumpkin spice everything. Alongside that autumn feeling, G2’s Fall 2024 Reports have arrived. So, grab that pumpkin spice latte and dive into the thousands of quarterly Market Reports — filtering by category, company segment, geographic region, and report type — with a quick, free log-in to my.G2.com.
Over the past quarter, we added 5% more reports, now surpassing the 24,000 mark! But among the mountains of G2 Fall 2024 Reports, just 6% of the Software & Services on G2 received a Leader badge. G2 Leaders should certainly be celebrated for earning a coveted spot in the top right quadrant of their Reports, but I’d like to extend a message of congratulations to all vendors featured in this season’s reports – whether you’re an emerging player on the scene, an established incumbent, or someone who is expanding into new categories or improving your prior rankings.
With that said, let’s zoom out for a sense of which vendors and products won big in Fall 2024 and other trends observed over the past quarter.
Software Companies & Products on G2 with the Most Reports
The top 10 companies with the most reports remained perfectly intact this season. The only difference is the growing number of reports these enterprise leaders are featured in on G2. Microsoft, for example, appeared in 4,584 reports compared to 4,423 last quarter – a 4% increase!

Companies & Products With Most #1 Rankings and Highest G2 Scores
Now, let’s see who secured the most #1 report rankings and highest G2 scores. On the vendor side, most maintained their inclusion in the top 10, with Cisco and Canva joining as new additions this season. Google maintained its dominance here, with 1,057 #1 rankings in G2 Fall 2024 reports – a 12% increase from last season.
When it comes to products with the most #1 rankings, Google Workspace moved into the #1 spot, seeing a 12% increase in the amount of reports it was ranked #1 in this season. Additionally, GitHub joined the top 10 list this quarter, with 173 #1 spots!
Let’s now take a look at top performances by G2 Score, which is a score based on reviews gathered from our user community, as well as data aggregated from online sources and social networks. We apply a unique algorithm to this data to calculate the customer Satisfaction and Market Presence scores in real-time.
Instacart holds onto its claim as the company achieving the highest G2 Score and still as the only vendor over 90, while Canva and UiPath join the top 10 this season.
Visual Studio Core, Grammarly, and Adobe Photoshop are the top 3 ranked products overall by G2 Score across all of our Fall 2024 Reports. Each of these products improved upon their rankings from last season, so hats off to them for that! Windows 11 is the only new joiner to this top 10 list.
The Most Improved Products This Season
In addition to celebrating those with top performances, we also like to praise those improving most over the past quarter. Congrats to InfoWorkSpace, which earned the #1 “most improved product” recognition, jumping 143 spots in the Video Conferencing Category.
Several products experienced enough strong growth over the past three months to move them into the #1 spot in their category. When it comes to the ‘most improved #1 ranked products,’ Ideagen Quality Control saw the largest leap – jumping 10 spots in the Inspection Management category!
The Categories Growing & Emerging on G2
There are over 2,000 software and services categories on G2 – with 1,261 represented in Fall 2024 reports. This is an increase from the 1,227 categories we saw represented in Summer 2024 reports,
So, separate from the report leaders we’ve already discussed to this point, let’s take a moment to explore category trends — starting with which categories on G2 saw the most product growth in Fall 2024 Reports since last season. Synthetic Media continued to hold at #1 for the fourth consecutive quarter, adding the most products yet again (22!). Beyond Synthetic Media, other AI categories are growing rapidly, like Chatbots and AI Sales Assistants.
And despite the growth observed in our seasonal reports, many categories saw even more significant growth. For example, there are 590 AI Writing Assistants listed on G2 today (with this number growing rapidly!), yet just 107 of them appeared in our Fall 2024 overall Grid® report for the category, based on eligibility.
Since the release of our Summer 2024 reports, G2 introduced 13 new categories – ranging from Auto Shop Management to AI Legal Assistant software!
These represent emerging areas where there are now enough products or services to deem a brand new category on G2. However, it’s worth noting that it typically takes time for new categories to mature to a point where they feature their own live Grids and quarterly reports.
