Before we close out the year and celebrate the holiday season, here at G2 we just released our Winter 2024 Reports — available by logging into my.G2.com. The latest edition of our quarterly Market Reports feature 22,739 reports. That’s a 10% increase in the amount of reports we published just a quarter ago in our Fall edition!
This season, reports feature 17,808 total software products & services across 1,140 categories. And, for the first time, Services are captured in these numbers — with 20 reports dedicated to Services companies on G2, not just products.
One thing to note is that despite our expansive report distribution, only the crème de la crème earn the honor of a Leader or High Performer badge within these reports. In fact, just 6% of software products and services listed on G2 earned that recognition this quarter -- with less than 3% securing a G2 Leader badge.
This blog post is not just a congratulations to those selective vendors earning high marks on G2 this season based on their customers' authentic feedback, but also for us to look across all those reports and pull out the key trends happening across the G2 ecosystem. So, what are the highlights from this past quarter? Let’s dive in.
Software Companies & Products on G2 with the Most Reports
The top 10 companies with the most reports this quarter remain consistent from Fall Reports. The only rank change is SAP edging out Adobe this time around with just one more report, while all 10 vendors kept the momentum going by increasing the volume of G2 reports they appeared in.

The top 10 products with the most G2 reports mostly remained the same with one new entrant: Apollo.io. While there were a couple of other rank changes, the other 9 products remained on the list, all increasing their number of reports over the prior season.
Companies & Products With Most #1 Rankings and Highest G2 Scores
Now let’s shift from quantity to quality and see not just who had the most report appearances, but who performed the best — the companies and products securing the most #1 report rankings and highest G2 scores.
For vendors, Microsoft and Google continue to duel it out, swapping spots yet again. Google takes back the #1 position this quarter, while Zoho Corporation cracks the top 10.
On the product front, HubSpot Marketing Hub holds onto its lead with the most #1 report rankings this quarter, as NinjaOne emerges as a new top 10 entrant.
We also examined performance by G2 Score, which is based on reviews gathered from our user community, as well as data aggregated from online sources and social networks. We apply a unique algorithm (updated earlier this year) to this data to calculate the customer Satisfaction and Market Presence scores in real time.
When it comes to top companies by G2 Score, Instacart holds onto the #1 spot as the only vendor scoring over a 90. Notably, there are four new players on this Winter 2024 reports break-out list: Instructure, Clio, monday.com, and Calendly. The competition is fierce this season!
Reviewing the top 10 products in our latest reports by G2 Score, we see that Relias Learning Management System holds at #1 with an impressive 99.1 score, as two new products join the list this season: Intuit’s ProConnect Tax product surges to #2 and Behance achieves the#6 spot.
The Most Improved Products This Season
Beyond celebrating those with the highest performance, we also like to praise and honor those who experienced the most drastic improvements in G2 reports over the prior quarter. Shout-out to AccuConference for jumping a whopping 138 rank spots for an 82% improvement since Fall reports in its respective category.
More kudos is in order for the products that saw not just a significant improvement – but enough to move them into the #1 spot in their category. Podium achieved the most dramatic increase, from 29th to 1st in its category. We’re here for the drama… way to shake up the Communication Platform as a Service category!
The Categories Growing and Emerging on G2
In addition to constantly adding new vendors and products to our software and services marketplace, G2’s Market Research team is responsible for maintaining and expanding our overarching taxonomy – across more than 2,000 categories! So let’s see which categories experienced the most growth this past quarter, in terms of new products added.
Synthetic media added a whopping 29 products as a fast-growing AI category. And we couldn’t cap this list at just 10, given the tie for 10th between Video Conference and Live Chat software. If one thing is clear from these findings, it’s that the software landscape hasn’t stopped growing. Look at all these additions in just one quarter!
Speaking of significant additions to our marketplace…22 new categories were added to G2 over the past quarter – ranging from AI Content Detectors to Crypto Accounting and Lifestyle Spending Accounts. These represent emerging areas where there are now enough products or services to deem a brand new category on G2. For context, it typically will take some time for new categories to mature to a point where they feature their own live Grids and quarterly reports.
