G2’s Refreshed Compare Pages Create a Smarter Software Shopping Experience

As consumers, we’ve all faced the challenge of choosing the right product for our needs—whether it’s a new smartphone, headphones, or a food delivery app. With so many options, we find ourselves comparing features and benefits as an essential part of the buying process to ensure we make the right choice. 

Software buying is no different. It’s a complex decision that often involves multiple stakeholders and goals. As buyers become more informed, the research process must evolve too, and with G2 Compare Pages ranking among the top four most visited pages on our marketplace, we know how crucial it is to help potential users find the right software—especially when it means going head-to-head with top competitors.

What's new?

The redesigned Compare Page goes beyond a simple visual refresh—it introduces a more intuitive and insightful experience through improved design and AI-driven content. Buyer feedback revealed that it was difficult to identify key differences between solutions from previous Compare Pages. As one of the most visited pages by buyers researching by Google or AI, we knew it was time for a modern, user-friendly approach.

Key design changes that benefit sellers and buyers

To help buyers make more educated purchasing decisions while maximizing the opportunity to increase pipeline for sellers, our new Compare Pages are equipped with: 

  • Clearer Data Visualizations: Compare Pages include a lot of data! To make the most out of the useful information, we’ve minimized complex visuals and went straight to the core metric, making it easier for buyers to assess differences at a glance.

  • Improved Save Functionality: We’ve made it easier to revisit Compare Pages you find valuable. The “Save” heart icon has moved higher up the page, and now you can save directly to both My Lists and your user profile.
  • AI-Powered Summaries: To streamline decision-making, Compare Pages now include AI-generated summaries. These highlight the most important feature-level differences between two products, helping buyers move faster and with more confidence.
