G2’s Winter Reports: Warming Up to the Top Trends Across 26,500+ Reports

December 3, 2025

Snow is on the ground across most of the US, and the puffer coats have emerged from closets, which can only mean that winter is upon us. It’s time to trade those pumpkin spice lattes for hot cocoa while we shovel the snow off the sidewalks (this doesn’t exactly happen here in Atlanta, but I can use my imagination!).

The changing seasons also bring new trends to explore at G2. And the best way to keep warm? Find out where your favorite software ranks in our Winter 2026 Reports!

The thousands of quarterly Market Reports feature rankings of software products and services based on the latest data. Discover the tools right for your business — filtering by category, geographic region, company, segment, and report type  — available with a quick, free log-in g2.com/reports.

Over the last quarter, we’ve added roughly 292 reports, now totaling over 26.5K! Still, only 3% of the software and services on G2 received a Leader badge — so, a big congratulations to those who earned a spot in the upper right quadrant of our reports. Whether you’re a growing name in your category or a fan-favorite in our reports, we’re excited to see all of these software brands in our reports.

Let’s take a look at which vendors and products stood out in our Winter 2026 reports, along with other trends we’ve observed over the past quarter.

Software companies and products on G2 with the most reports

While the top 10 list of companies featured most frequently in reports remains unchanged from last quarter, we noticed some shifting among the vendors. For instance, Microsoft surpassed Salesforce after being mentioned in 130 new reports this season, while SAP also leapfrogged vendors like IBM and Adobe after being mentioned in 146 new reports.

The categories growing and emerging on G2

There are over 1,355 software and services categories represented in the G2 Winter 2026 Reports. Of those categories, E-commerce saw the biggest growth with 28 new products added this quarter.

I’d also like to call out the impact of AI-driven products and categories this quarter. Of the top 10 categories showing the most product growth, five are related to AI — reflecting the impact AI technology is having across the software ecosystem as we continue to map the explosion of new AI categories and products on G2.

Now, let’s dive into one of my favorite elements of our quarterly G2 reports — the categories that feature a Grid® Report mention for the first time

Not all categories on G2 are reflected in our Reports. We first need to make sure there is enough data to support the analysis and rankings. According to our G2 Methodology, a software or service category becomes eligible for a mention in the Grid® Report when it has at least six products with over 10 reviews and over 150 reviews overall.

These are the 16 new report-ready categories this quarter — six of which focus on AI. The quickest category to go from creation to Grid® Report was Autonomous Endpoint Management (AEM) at just 21 days. Right on its heels was AI Note-Taking Software at 29 days.

New report ready categories

  • Autonomous Endpoint Management (AEM): These tools are used by information technology (IT) and information security (InfoSec) teams to perform the core functions of traditional endpoint management software autonomously.
  • AI Note-Taking Software: These are tools that use AI to capture, transcribe, organize, and summarize information from meetings or personal notes. AI note-taking apps leverage natural language processing (NLP), speech-to-text, and machine learning (ML) platforms to understand context, extract key points, and generate action items.
  • AI Orchestration: These platforms are designed to coordinate, manage, and streamline multiple artificial intelligence models, tools, and data workflows within business environments.
  • AI App Builder: This software redefines the application development experience by translating natural language into functional software, allowing businesses to create custom applications and websites without coding.
  • AI Voice Assistants: This type of software enables people to interact with digital devices and systems using natural voice commands. It uses a combination of speech recognition, natural language processing (NLP), and artificial intelligence (AI) to interpret spoken input, process it, and answer accordingly, either by speaking, performing actions, or retrieving information.
  • AI IT Agents: These agents are designed to manage and optimize IT operations and support processes. AI IT agents are deeply integrated with a company’s IT Service Management (ITSM) systems, knowledge bases, and workflows to streamline ticket resolution, incident management, and proactive issue detection.
  • Answer Engine Optimization (AEO): Also known as generative engine optimization (GEO), this software is designed to improve a brand’s visibility in AI-powered search and discovery engines, including large language models (LLM) and AI chatbots.
  • Legal CRM: This type of software understands the intricacies of the legal industry and eases the daily responsibilities of legal practitioners by helping law firms manage and nurture client relationships, streamline client intake processes for better lead conversion, and improve overall client experience.
  • Procurement Orchestration: These tools coordinate and integrate procurement processes, technology, and resources across various business units, regions, and product categories. Organizations use this software to help streamline the entire procurement lifecycle, from sourcing to payment.
  • API Mocking: This software simulates the behavior of APIs during software development and testing, while enabling developers, QA engineers, and other technical teams to create and deploy mock APIs that mimic the functionality of real APIs without needing a live backend or third-party service.
  • Merchant of Record: These are platforms that handle the complex financial aspects of online transactions on behalf of businesses. These solutions are used by businesses across various industries that engage in cross-border sales, such as SaaS, retail and e-commerce, streaming services, gaming and entertainment, travel and hospitality, etc.
  • Digital Communications Governance: This type of software refers to a comprehensive and structured set of tools and frameworks designed to support corporate governance and compliance in organizations. These tools aid in the establishment of a secure, compliant, and efficient digital communication environment within organizations.
  • Notification Infrastructure: These tools include the complete technological framework and systems that deliver user notifications, alerts, and messages. It encompasses the hardware, software, and network components that deliver messages through various channels, including email, SMS, and push notifications.
  • Logistics Intelligence: These tools help supply chain professionals make better business decisions by mining data from APIs, third-party research providers, and end-users to optimize shipping, contract management, spending, and visibility.
  • Cannabis POS Systems: These systems provide dispensaries and other cannabis retailers with the ability to sell their products and remain compliant with federal and state regulations. Dispensaries can collect payment, track inventory, and maintain accurate tax records with these tools.
  • Food Traceability: These tools provide the ability to research, track, and store information about the makeup of food products. Companies use this software to keep well-documented records of food orders and their origins.
